Akira Aerials is a specialist aerial unit in Spain, providing professional drone filming for feature films, episodic productions, commercials, television and live broadcasts.

We work with producers, production companies, agencies, directors of photography and on-set
crews on Spanish and international productions. Our FPV, stabilised and heavy-lift drone systems give each project the camera movement it needs.

With teams in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, A Coruña and the Canary Islands, we provide aerial cinematography and drone filming across Spain and Europe.

PROJECTS

Our team brings more than 10 years of experience on major Spanish and international productions, spanning film, episodic television, commercials and entertainment.

Demanding schedules, large crews and complex locations are familiar territory. We coordinate and arrange drone filming permits for locations across Spain and Europe, working with production, directing, camera and VFX departments to integrate the aerial unit from planning through to the shoot.

Our equipment includes FPV and stabilised drones, cinema cameras, lenses and a wide range of flight configurations, covering the systems regularly used on professional productions. When a shot calls for something beyond standard equipment, our R&D team adapts and develops technical solutions, turning ideas from directors and DPs into practical tools for the set.

PERMITS

We hold AESA authorisation to operate FPV and cinema drones in urban environments. We manage permits and coordination for urban shoots, night flights, military areas and special operations across Spain and Europe.

We follow strict safety procedures, with protective systems tailored to each operation and public liability insurance of up to €6.5 million.

EXPERIENCE

Our pilots and operators have more than 10 years of experience, specialising in FPV and stabilised drones and working on major film, television and commercial productions with international directors and crews.

Our R&D department develops and adapts solutions for each shoot, from drones carrying lighting or props to custom components and configurations that bring directors’ and DPs’ ideas to life
